BreakGlass has customizable settings that let you control which of your custodians can initiate the BreakGlass Process, as well as the length of time you have to abort the BreakGlass Process. You do this by logging into you BreakGlass account and go to "Custodians" on the left-side navigation. From there you can adjust the settings as well as the BreakGlass Timer.
BreakGlass puts you in control of how the BreakGlass Process is initiated. For instance, you could have 5 custodians, and require all 5 to initiate the BreakGlass Process before the timer begins. Or you could grant Executive Privileged to one or two of your custodians, which would give them to ability to start the BreakGlass Process independent of the other Custodians. This can be configured in the "Custodians" section of your profile page.
After the BreakGlass process has be successfully completed, your Custodians will have 30 days to read and download your files. After 30 days the data will be cyber-shredded and no longer available.
Most use cases provide Custodians with financial information; which accounts they have, how to gain access or perhaps where assets are hidden. BreakGlass is also excellent for storage of your Last Will & Testament, goodbye letters and historic photos. It can also be used to provide passwords, encryption keys or any number of personal information you would want a spouse, business partners, or loved ones to be aware of.
